Is It WRONG To Want More?!
One of my biggest fears in life is complacency. I’m terrified of waking up one day and realizing that I didn’t do the things I wanted to do in life. I’m scared to live a life of mediocrity.
But at the same time, I wondered if it was wrong to want more especially when I have so much. I have what people deem successful – the marriage, the kids, the house, the good job, the vacations, etc. But is it enough?!
No, it’s not. I want more out of life and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. There’s nothing wrong with knowing that life is good but wanting from it.
Over the summer, I did a lot of work trying to discover exactly what I wanted in life. I hired a coach and began to invest in personal and business development. But the realization didn’t come for another few months but once it came, it hit me hard.
So what is my more?! Freedom, it’s truly that simple. I want the freedom to do what I want, when I want. I want the freedom to work with who I want. I want the freedom to lie in bed on a Monday morning or go to the gym at 10am. I want the freedom to take the entire month of December Off. I want the freedom to live MY life on MY terms unapologetically.
But for some reason, society tells us that wanting more means we are greedy or worse, selfish. That we should accept the cards life has dealt us and move on.
But I say NOPE! Wanting more means you know that you aren’t living in your purpose. Wanting more means you know you have talents and gifts to share with the world. Wanting more means knowing you have a voice that people need to hear.
And let me tell you – there’s SOO much right in wanting more. I’ve said this multiple times, everything I do is for my family. My boys are my why. They are the reason why I am chasing freedom. They are the reason why I show up consistently for my tribe as I build my business. They will always be my why.
I hope you want more and know that it’s OK to want more. I hope you have a reason to want more. If you know you want more but aren’t sure what more even is, please shoot me a message and I can help you work through that.
