Sunrise Juice
One of my new addictions is making fresh juice. My mom has been juicing for years and has tried to get me on the juicing train for a while now. I always ignored her but when given the opportunity to register for some high-end items for the wedding, I decided why not add a juicer!
The juicer we got was the Omega Low Speed Juicing system, which was pretty pricey here, but totally worth it. So now, I’m obsessed with juicing. I started out doing two juices a day but realized how costly that can be because you need like ten carrots to make 16 ounces of juice! Currently I make one juice a day, usually the evening before, to drink mid-morning.
he health benefits are incredible and honestly, I end up drinking fruits and vegetables that I would never sit down and eat. And there’s also the volume of produce you get in a one juice as well that can’t be beat. When was the last time you sat down and ate four carrots, two beets and two oranges all at the same time???
Here’s a recipe for one of my favourites – Sunrise Juice. It has beets, carrots and oranges, packed with beta carotene and vitamin C. It’s a great way to start the day!
Sunrise Juice
makes one 16 ounces juice
Four large carrots, cut lengthwise
Two orange, peeled and cute into eight pieces
One to two beets, quartered
Instructions
1) Wash all produce
2) Put into juicer following normal instructions from manual.
3) Once you’ve juiced all ingredients, pour juice into a strainer to get out all the bits.
4) Pour into a tall glass with ice and enjoy immediately or store in a glass container in the fridge.
